For Talent
Make connections that actually matter.
1. Upload Your Resume
Make sure it's up to date and includes all of your latest projects, skills, and experiences. You can update your resume at any time. In order for your resume to be processed correctly, it needs to adhere to the following guidelines:
- PDF format
- 5MB limit
- Text-based
- Not too short/long
Your resume must be in PDF format, this ensures it can be displayed correctly and consistently on all devices.
Make sure your resume is less than 5MB in size. This ensures it can be processed quickly and efficiently. If your resume is larger than 5MB, try removing any images or compressing the file.
In order for us to process your resume correctly, it needs to be "text-based". This means the text is selectable and not part of a scanned image or vectorized. You can check this by selecting the text in your resume. If you can't select the text, it's likely an image.
Your resume should be between 1-3 pages long. More specifically between 2000 and 6500 characters.
2. Set Your Preferences
Set your location, availability, compensation requirements, and more. This ensures you only make connections based off of what you're looking for. Make sure to keep them up to date.
Location
Search for and set your location. You can set your location to either a country, region, district, or place. A place can be a town, city, or neighborhood. You can then set your location limit, which limits your availability to a certain area.
For example: If you set your location to "USA," it means you're available to work anywhere in the country. You'll appear in searches where the location is set to the United States. However, you won't appear in searches for specific states, counties, or cities because that level of detail wasn't provided. To increase your visibility, it's best to set your location to a specific place and then broaden your location limit to a larger area, like the entire country.
Work Location Type
Choose what type of work location you're looking for. You can choose between remote, on-site and hybrid. Note that remote work will still be limited to your location limits.
Work Type
Choose what type of work you're looking for. You can choose between full-time, part-time, contract, freelance, and internship.
Compensation
Set your compensation preferences as yearly, monthly, hourly, or project-based rates. These are your minimum requirements, so you won't be excluded from searches offering higher pay. If you leave a rate blank, it means you're open to negotiation. You also have the option to display your rate on your profile card—it's optional, but highly recommended.
Introduction Message
Write an introduction message that recruiters can see just before making a connection with you. This is optional but can be a great way to make a good first impression, or to provide additional information about what you're looking for.
3. Set Your Status
Your status is important, it determines how you can be discovered. You can set your status to public, private or offline. It effects searchability and visibility. Here are the differences:
Public
Your resume can be searched for and viewed by recruiters without having to connect with you.
Pros:
- More likely to be viewed and connected with.
- Less frictions for recruiters.
Cons:
- Less control over who views your resume.
Private
Your resume can be searched for but can only be viewed by recruiters you have connected with.
Pros:
- More control over who views your resume.
Cons:
- Less likely to be viewed and connected with.
- Can be a barrier for recruiters.
Offline Default
That's It
No more messing around with job boards, you're now ready to be discovered. You'll be notified when you receive a message from a recruiter. Make sure your email notifications are turned on so you don't miss out on any opportunities. Spend your time working on your craft, building new projects, learning new skills, while your resume does the work for you.
